ABOUT

Let’s Get Uncomfortable - see our LGU webpage https://www.aashna.uk/letsgetuncomfortable

As part of Aashna’s vision to generate dialogues and facilitate change around diverse issues, we have affiliated with the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN), the Minster Centre, Psychotherapists and Counsellors for Social Responsibility (PCSR) and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Union (PCU) for a series of encounters to explore and develop a framework for embedding explorations of race, ethnicity, culture and power in counselling and psychotherapy training.

OUR AIM

To hold a series of encounters exploring race, ethnicity, culture and power within our trainings. Each encounter will be held at Aashna Counselling & Psychotherapy.

We invite trainees, supervisors, trainers, heads of training organisations and professional bodies of all backgrounds to join us to create meaningful dialogue, action and change to embed explorations of race, ethnicity, culture and power within counselling and psychotherapy field.

DONATIONS

Payment for the encounters is by donation based on our Aashna+ social justice project https://www.aashna.uk/aashnaplus mission:

To offer a psychotherapy service that embraces difference and affirms interconnectedness, to creatively challenge existing power structures within the field, empower all participants involved, develop a sense of belonging to a shared project and inspire the vision that psychotherapy can no longer be separate from the urgent need for social change. It is in our hands!

In attending you are becoming a participant in a bigger social experiment and contribute to a ‘communal pot’ £5, £15, £30 + according to your means and desire to contribute to our Aashna+ vision. If you moved to you can donate additional funds over £30 via our GoFundMe page here.
