About the event

Is There Anybody Out There Trailer

In allyship for Disability Pride Month and to continue Aashna’s process of exploring our ableism we  invite you to an Aashna Learning Community screening of Ella Glendining’s Is There Anybody Out There documentary that challenges the discriminatory attitudes Ella faces as a young woman with a rare physical disability on Friday 4 October 2024 6 - 8 pm.

Glendining was born without hip joints and with short femurs; she can walk or use a wheelchair, and is really almost without problems other than people’s discriminatory attitudes. Glendining argues that the challenges she faces – are really all about ableism.

We will hold space for a brief discussion following the screening.
