About the event

Aashna Counselling and Psychotherapy is excited to be hosting our first South Asian Therapists Gathering in the spirit of our long-standing commitment to celebrating intersectional identities. For this gathering, we are devoting one evening to all things South Asian as part of our celebration leading up to South Asian Heritage Month.

We are inviting Psychotherapists, Counsellors and those in training with ethnic and cultural identities from the South Asian Diaspora to share our told and untold intergenerational stories. We want to gather our elders and younger generation to deepen connections within our community, to celebrate our lineage, cultures, respective intersectionality and stories.

As always there will be delicious vegetarian Gujarati food and drinks (non-alcoholic) which is central to all our gatherings at Aashna. The evening will be informal, but hopefully powerful in deepening our connections and making new friends.

We ask for a minimum of £10 as a contribution for the evening (please note those who can afford more, your money will subsidise those who can not. For concession rates please reach out to Shammi info@aashna.uk

As we continue to support Aashna+, we will donate 10% of all profits to the service.

Hosts for the gathering

Pretish Raja-Helm and Shammi Kohli co-directors of Aashna. As second-generation British Asians we have felt that this gathering touches our need for connection with other therapists from similar backgrounds in a space set up by South Asian therapists. We hope to facilitate dialogues for our unique stories and with that in mind feel that it will also speak to others who are seeking community, within the greater Counselling psychotherapy community. We look forward to welcoming you to join us at Aashna.

Pretish and Shammi in collaboration with the Aashna Creative Team.
